Data Plane: The primary role of VXLAN is in the data plane, where it encapsulates Layer 2 Ethernet frames into VXLAN packets for transport over the Layer 3 network. VTEPs are responsible for encapsulating and decapsulating these packets, forwarding the original Layer 2 traffic across the VXLAN network.
Control Plane: While VXLAN itself does not have a control plane, it relies on external protocols or different method . Please refer to attached table.
